Dr. Rosslyn Emmerson, MBA, Ph.D, the founder of Lifework Tarot, is a non-sectarian Intuitive Gnostic, who has an MBA and Ph.D from Western University in London, Ontario. Her research priorities are mysticism, creativity, decision-making, organizational learning and corporate change.  Prior to founding Lifework Tarot, she developed an innovative framework to coach senior executives up the steep learning curve to manage sweeping organizational change in turbulent environments.  Lifework Tarot adopts many of the empowering techniques Dr. Emmerson uses in creativity consulting, leadership development and executive coaching.

Here's what Dr. Emmerson has said about her decision to found LWT:
"After years of doing executive coaching and similar work, my decision to found Lifework Tarot drew upon the courage of my convictions.  LWT belongs in the mainstream, but I knew that to establish its rightful niche there, I would have to address many misconceptions and prejudices.  Historically, it was a prudent necessity to protect both the wisdom and wise with a cloak of secrecy. That's why the age-old wisdom was encrypted in the symbols on Tarot cards.  My own introduction to the mysteries was as a child, on one of many visits to my namesake, Rosslyn Chapel, in Scotland, where the symbols are carved in stone.  What better place to hide a secret than out in the open, disguised as something else?
Historically, secrecy preserved the wisdom and the wise in times of persecution, but the irony is that it can actually provoke a lot of misinformed superstition and paranoia as well, even in far more liberal and enlightened times. Rationally, I believed that secrecy had outlived its purpose, but still, I did have personal inhibitions about founding Lifework Tarot because even in my own childhood I had been discouraged from discussing the mysteries with people who were not initiates. Old habits die hard!
Nevertheless, I had sufficient firsthand  experience to compare the effectiveness of other coaching methods and I was extremely impressed by the results achieved by tarot-guided coaching.  Ultimately, it was that evidence which gave me the courage to establish Lifework Tarot.
Today most of my clients are well-educated professionals and I'm encouraged by the fact that LWT has made significant strides in claiming its niche in the mainstream where it rightly belongs."
